Power lean
One of the small things a player can do to improve power is to make a small improvement in power is to make an adjustment in your stance. Just before you begin your backswing, lean toward the back of the tee box with your upper body. This "power lean" is barely perceptible to your playing partners but you will come through the ball with more power and hit it further.
Angle your left foot
Turn your left foot outward as you address the ball. This will help you get more of a body turn and will help your hips get through the ball with more speed. As you address the ball, your left shoulder needs to be facing the target and your left foot will be directly underneath your shoulder. Angle your left foot out and that will add more power to your swing.
Release your right hand
As you come through the ball with your hips, it is now time for your hands to do the work. Your left hand leads the way and as you bring it through the ball your right hand needs to snap through. By finishing the swing as you emphasize your right hand, you will get more power as long as you finish the swing up high with your hands at shoulder height.
