Best Wine List in Hilton Head Island, SC
After a game of golf on Hilton Head Island, nothing beats a delicious meal and a glass of fine wine. You can find both at Alexander's Seafood Restaurant and Wine Bar, which features tasty cuisine, such as sautéed shrimp with sausage and grits, and grouper with macadamia nuts and chili glaze. Pair your meal with a wine from Alexander's top-notch list, divided into Old and New World whites and reds, plus a section of reserves.

New World Reds

Pinot Noir lovers will be in heaven, with several premium choices from California and Oregon. The menu also features fine Malbecs from Argentina, California Petite Sirahs and a few distinctive bottles of Shiraz from Australian vintners. If your taste runs to Merlot, you'll find a half dozen select options from the West Coast. Other choices include Zins and Cabernets from California, and Meritage from California and North Carolina.

New World Whites

California sparkling wines kick off the New World whites, but you'll also find fine choices, such as Sauvignon Blanc from California and New Zealand, and Pinot Gris from the West Coast. For variety, order by the glass and try the White Zin or Fume Blanc from California. Also, a wide range of extremely drinkable Chardonnays come from Australia, California and North Carolina.

Old World Reds

If you prefer European red wines, try an elegant French Merlot or Pinot Noir, or a Spanish Cabernet Franc or Tempranillo. Italian selections include fine examples of Nebbiolo, Corvina and Sangiovese, calling to mind the sunny vineyards dotting the landscape in Tuscany.

Old World Whites

Enjoy sparkling wines from Spain, Italy or Champagne, or try one of the remarkable Chardonnays from France. You'll also find Pinot Grigio from Italy, Sauvignon Blanc from France and several bottles of Riesling from Austria, Alsace and Germany.

Reserves

Connoisseurs will love the reserve list, which includes more than a half dozen select Cabernets from California, plus fine examples of Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Sirah and Meritage. You can also select Pinot Noir from California or Tignanello from Tuscany.
