Best Sandwich Spots in Pebble Beach, CA
Pebble Beach is home to an array of spectacular fine dining restaurants, but it's also full of surprises on the lunch front. Whether you're looking for a gourmet burger with a view or a local hole-in-the-wall with great food, you'll find what you're looking for on the Monterey Peninsula. If you're in town for golf at one of the famed Pebble Beach courses or a more low-key (but just as tough) round at Bayonet and Black Horse, you'll find a great sandwich waiting at the end.

The Tap Room

Located at The Lodge at Pebble Beach, the Tap Room is open to the public but resort casual attire is required. Lunch isn't cheap, but there is a fabulous club sandwich on the menu, and the view of Carmel Bay and the golf course can't be beat. The sandwich is lightly toasted and stacked high, but the ingredients are of the gourmet variety rather than your standard grocery-store meats. There are also gourmet meat deli sandwiches, a black angus burger and lobster salad on the lunch menu. Most come with a huge side of excellent fries, but there are some healthy side options too.

Rosine's Restaurant

There are so many sandwiches on the menu, it's hard to pick a favorite. Rosine's is an institution in Monterey, just up the road from Pebble Beach, and known for large portions and fresh selection. There's a grilled cheese and tuna on sourdough, a unique calamari steak sandwich, several twists on the turkey sandwich, two kinds of Reubens and two kinds of club sandwiches. Most lunch items are served with a choice of fries, hand-made potato salad, slaw or a green salad. The restaurant has a clubby, friendly atmosphere. Open daily from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Randy's Sandwich Shop

Also up the road in Monterey, Randy's is well-known regionally for its overstuffed sandwiches and low prices. At lunchtime, there is usually a line out the door, and there's not much room to eat inside, so consider going early and getting a picnic. Old-fashioned favorites like liverwurst and egg salad are on the menu, but the place is known for its Jaws and Jaws II sandwiches, both jam-packed with roast beef, ham, turkey, pastrami, salami and American and Swiss cheeses. Add bologna and jack cheese on the Jaws II. Sandwiches are a la carte, but you won't really need much else. Open for breakfast, too, from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
