Best Seafood Joints in Monterey, CA
Monterey, California, is an awesome place to plan a golf outing, either with your golf group or your family. Play courses such as Pebble Beach and Del Monte Golf Course, and you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. When your rounds are over, head to Monterey and eat at some of the best seafood restaurants Northern California has to offer.

Abalonetti Seafood Trattoria

Perhaps the last time you ate at a restaurant like Abalonetti was in Milan, Italy, where you were surrounded by the colors of the sea in a fun, fashionable atmosphere. While there are a myriad of seafood dishes on the menu, this restaurant offers to prepare the local favorite--squid--any way you want. Other dishes include huge prawns that are available locally, as well as dungeness crab from San Francisco. But no trip to this restaurant would be complete without a trip or two to the antipasti bar with its steamed clams, marinated artichokes and huge chunks of feta.

The C Restaurant & Bar

Chef Jerry Regester has patterned this restaurant's menu after the seafood sustainability list at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is footsteps away. He has included local sardines, arctic char, California striped bass and calamari from Monterey Bay. He has also included the famous dungeness crab that he trucks in fresh everyday. For those who avoid seafood, the menu offers prime cuts of beef, chops and fowl. And on a pleasant evening, you can gaze at Monterey Bay while you dine on the restaurant's patio.

The Sardine Factory

The Sardine Factory has set the standard for seafood restaurants in Monterey, California, since it opened its doors in 1968. The Sardine Factory is where the actors and politicians go. Ronald Reagan specifically asked that its famous abalone bisque be served at one of his inaugural dinners. The extensive menu includes a huge piece of swordfish that is perfectly cooked, broiled salmon that is finished with crab or else served with risotto with chives and topped with a tarragon butter sauce. Then at the end of your meal, order a "flaming sardine," which your waiter will ignite at your table.
