Ka'anapali Kai Course
This course will appeal to both the golfer and the historian in you. The land was once a sugarcane plantation, and on several holes, you can see a tourist train chug by. Many holes are bounded by lava rock and are replete with indigenous flowers that make Ka'anapali Kai visually unusual and enjoyable. It is just over 6,400 yards long from the back tees and has a slope rating of 134. Wait to tee off until after 1 p.m. and you'll pay a discount.

Makena Golf Course
One of the finest courses from designer Robert Trent Jones Jr., Makena Golf Course opened to numerous accolades in 1993. Jones left as much of the terrain in its natural state as possible, making your round as much a marvelous golf experience as it is a walk through nature. Makena Golf Course is just over 6,900 yards long from the championship tees and has a slope rating from those of 139. But the course can be more manageable because it is much shorter from the other three tees on each hole. If your tee time is after 1 p.m., you will play this wonderful course for a reduced price.

Puakea Golf Course
There is no such category as "The Most Enjoyable Course," but if there were, Puakea Golf Course would head the list. Each hole has been designed to be totally different, so you will be challenged by all 18 holes. This course is almost 7,000 yards from the back tees, though it can be shortened by multiple tees on every hole. If you can wait until after 2 p.m. to tee off, you can play this gem for a much lower price.

This course is close to 6,900 yards from the back tees and has a slope rating from there of 136. The Dunes at Maui Lani opened in 1999. Twilight golf begins at 2 p.m.
