While there are no golf courses directly in the city, the area known as Greater Atlantic City offers a plethora of options for golfers of every level and budget. Whether you're looking to golf as a break from gambling or you came to the area just to visit the green, the Atlantic City area won't disappoint.

Bird Golf Academy

The Bird Golf Academy is located within the Seaview Resort and Spa. Located in Galloway, in the Greater Atlantic City area, the academy employs Tour Winners and PGA professionals in its teaching staff. Private and group classes are available, and visitors can choose from 9-hole playing lessons, short game sessions, full swing instruction and daily clinics. There is also a junior program for those under 17. If you're looking for a place to stay while in the area, the Seaview offers golf packages that include tee time, golf instruction and accommodations.

The Links at Brigantine Beach

The closest course to Atlantic City, the Brigantine is also one of the most famous in the state. The course is designed in classic Scottish style and features native marshes, tidal water hazards and rolling hills. There are open views of the bay from here and the course is close enough to the water that players can enjoy the sea breeze when preparing for their next shot. The course also offers a ProLink GPS system, a full-service bar and a pro-shop. This is a par 72 course, with a yardage of 6524 and a rating of 70.2. The black tee has a slope of 123. The other two tees (Silver and Gold) have a slope of 122 and 115 respectively. Just four miles out of the city center, those playing at Brigantine can enjoy hotel discounts to the top places in Atlantic City, including the Hilton, Caesars and Trump Plaza.

Wonder Bar

Located right on the water, Wonder Bar is the perfect place to stop after a game of golf for a quick bite or a gourmet meal, as well as drinks and desserts. The outdoor dining area offers casual food, while the indoor dining room, overlooking the bay, has a gourmet menu that includes seafood favorites (fried scallops, shrimp scampi and flounder francaise) as well as salads, soups and wraps. The Tiki Bar, on the patio, offers margaritas, martinis and bite-size appetizers. Wonder Bar has its own floating docks, and boaters are welcome.
