4 Star Hotels Near Lanai City Airport

4 Star Hotels Near Lanai City Airport
One of the least-traveled and smallest islands in the Hawaiian chain, Lanai is home to two superior championship golf courses and two luxury resorts. All may be reached easily from the Lanai City airport. Whether you are visiting to play the ocean side course at Manele Bay or the more rugged Koele course, you'll find accommodations that will make the rest of your trip as enjoyable as your time on the links.

Four Seasons Manele Bay

Sitting right on Hulopo`e Bay, the Four Seasons Manele Bay is as spectacular outside as in. Dolphins and turtles are visible from the hotel while the bay has wonderful snorkeling and a protected, white-sand beach. Many guest rooms have ocean views. All have down bedding, thick terrycloth robes and state-of-the-art technology. The hotel's pool overlooks the ocean. There is a high-end spa and golf at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Challenge at Manele Bay. The course is cut into lava fields along cliffs fronting the Pacific. The views are matched by the challenges presented by the lava rock and hilly fairways on the course.

Four Seasons Lodge at Koele

Located in the highlands of Lanai, the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele is not at all what you might expect in Hawaii. The English country manor theme is played out in the fireside lounge, horse trails and formal gardens. The guest rooms in this small hotel (102 rooms) are quite large and some have fireplaces. All are well-appointed. There is a high-end spa, hiking trails, tennis and a pool. But for golf nuts, the real draw is unlimited use of the putting course and the woodsy Experience at Koele golf course. A round at Koele--designed by Greg Norman and Ted Robinson--is filled with lush scenery, views of Maui and Molokai as well as the challenge of stepped water hazards and tight fairways.

Other Options

If you're looking for a more affordable option while in Lanai, you can still take advantage of the resort golf courses while staying in town at the Hotel Lanai or Dreams Come True Bed & Breakfast. The Hotel Lanai is a rustic 11-room property tucked into a stand of Cook pines in Lanai City, and Dreams Come True is a four-room bed & breakfast with limited amenities.
