The Best Hotels Off the Strip in Las Vegas
Many visitors to Las Vegas find it refreshing to stay in hotels off the Strip. They're able to avoid the constant hustle and bustle but still be close enough to their favorite activities from golf to gambling.

The Westin Casuarina

Located about a block away from the Strip, the Westin Casuarina is a prime spot to unwind.

The hotel features an outdoor heated pool and a 10,000-square-foot spa with 15 treatment areas and a steam room. When you're hungry, stop by the Westin's 24-hour restaurant, the lounge or Starbucks in the lobby. You can also work out in the gym, try your luck in the casino or walk down the street for gaming action at other hotels.

Golfers enjoy playing on several public courses within a few miles of the Westin, including the Bali Hai Golf Club and the Las Vegas National Golf Club, each about 10 miles away.

Marriott Resort

The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa is about 15 miles from the Strip--and right across the street from two premier golf clubs. Angel Park includes two 18-hole courses, a nine-hole course, a natural-grass putting green and the Summerlin Golf Academy for improving your game. TPC Las Vegas is a PGA Tour facility with an 18-hole course and golf school.

The Marriott itself features a swimming area, fitness center and a spa with treatment rooms, a sauna and a hydrotherapy pool. Dining choices include Ceres, serving American cuisine; Shizen Japanese Restaurant; The Carmel Room with Mediterranean fare; and Spiedini Ristorante for Italian food. You'll also find a buffet, a cafe, Starbucks and an Irish pub.

Ritz-Carlton

Golfers and their families enjoy the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, about 17 miles outside the city. The surrounding area has several popular golf courses, including Cascata in Boulder City and the Revere Golf Club in Henderson.

While parents golf, children can participate in supervised activities such as nature hikes, art projects and tours of the hotel's pastry kitchen. The Ritz-Carlton is right on the lake, so the whole family can take part in fly-fishing, kayaking and swimming.

Dining choices include the Medici Cafe and Terrace, serving steak and Italian food; the Firenze Lobby Lounge offering lighter meals; and the Poolside Cafe, with fare such as hamburgers and wraps.
