Best Northeast Courses For 10+ Handicappers
Golf in the Northeast is one of the most underrated activities. While golfers may find that their season is considerably shorter in the Northeast than it is in the South or West, they are often treated to some of the most picturesque courses in the country. Medium- and high-handicap golfers have plenty of choices for a great day of golf.

Northeast Harbor Golf Club

Northeast Harbor Golf Club in Northeast Harbor, Maine, is a challenging 5,430-yard course that is a solid choice for all high-handicappers. Golfers are not required to be big hitters off the tee, but accuracy is a key issue. There are many uphill and downhill lies that can be tricky, but if you can keep your shots in the fairway, the course plays quite reasonably.

Fishers Island Club

Fishers Island Club in Fishers Island, New York, has some difficult challenges for medium-handicap golfers. The 6,544-yard course does not have many long holes, but it does require tight iron play or you will find yourself playing from bunkers throughout the round, and they are difficult at Fishers Island.

Hickory Hill Golf Course

Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen, Massachusetts, is one of the top golf courses in the state. Hickory Hill is a par-71, 6,276-yard course that features small greens and tight fairways. Golfers who try to go long will have a hard time keeping their ball in decent shape and will most likely find one of the hazards. The course is a challenge for high handicappers, but it does not require golfers to be big hitters.
