Central Florida Fair
The fair arrives in Orlando with the last snap of cold air. Usually hitting town the last week of February, the Central Florida Fair will still be there in early March. If the sultry Orlando heat is a bit too much, you can always take advantage of the 60,000 square feet of air-conditioned space. Better yet, enjoy all the usual attractions of a fair: rides, concerts, contests, livestock competitions and live shows.

Golfers headed to Orlando should rejoice over the opportunity to take in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, formerly known as the Bay Hill Invitational. All the top PGA pros hit Orlando to show how the game is played at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge. As of 2009, Tiger Woods can officially be called king of this tournament, having emerged as the winner six times during the decade. Plan on getting to Orlando in late March to catch golf's greatest.

Florida Film Festival
The Florida Film Festival usually begins in March and ends in April. Although this regional festival located much closer to Hollywood, Florida, than to Hollywood, California, it draws quite a bit of attention. Whenever you watch the Academy Awards and hear those nominees for Best Live Action Short, think the Florida Film Festival. The short films that make it into the FFF qualify for consideration to win an Oscar. The festival screens dozens of films at theaters around Orlando and provides a glimpse into the kind of movie ideas that don't get into the 20-screen theaters.
