Disney World
Disney World is one of the No. 1 vacation spots no matter what the season, but it is especially magical at Christmas. Besides the fact that you are at one of the best amusement parks in the world, the decorations are amazing with evergreen placed everywhere, Christmas trees decked out in festive colors, and music played throughout the park. Special events such as the Christmas Story are read aloud and an amazing Christmas parade could get even the grumpiest person in the Christmas spirit. Santas dressed in clothing from different time and cultures are in every country in Epcot, and a seasonal Christmas performance is held in front of the castle at night. Even the resorts on Disney property are decorated for the season, and depending on the hotel, vacationers might find gigantic gingerbread houses, carousels or even Santa himself.
Christmas
There is a place in Florida named Christmas. Many flock to the area every year to visit Fort Christmas and the surrounding area. The fort was built and used during the Second Seminole Indian War. Many like to send their Christmas cards from the local post office so that they will be postmarked with the holiday title. At the fort each year there are many events, and in December there is a pioneer Christmas festival showing the way things were around the early 1800s. Santa is present and a huge craft fair is held on the grounds. The town of Christmas is located in Orange County.
Other Attactions
If Disney isn't in the budget for the family Christmas vacation in Florida, there are other places that are a little less expensive. Hotels are available with rates as low as the $40s, which can help with the expense, allowing more money for activities. Universal Studios, Cape Canaveral, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are all popular attractions and also decorate for the season, complete with trees. Lesser-known locations such as Bok Tower Gardens offer beauty to see along with seasonal activities such as live Christmas music.
