Jimmy Carter Library and Museum
Learn about the life, career and presidency of Georgia's own Jimmy Carter. The library and museum house artifacts, photographs and memorabilia commemorating the 1976 to 1981 Carter presidency. You can visit a replica of the Oval Office and browse exhibits and displays detailing significant events during this era. The museum hosts additional temporary exhibits including traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibitions, lectures and book signings.

The Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is a renowned family friendly institution. Here you will see innumerable sea creatures and learn about their habits and habitats. The aquarium houses separate exhibits including "Georgia Explorer" where visitors can touch stingrays and see loggerhead sea turtles; and "Tropical Diver" which is based on a coral reef and is home to garden eels, jellyfish and seahorses. At the "River Scout" exhibit you will see species from African, South American, Asian and local Georgian rivers including alligators and piranha fish. A major highlight of the aquarium is Nandi, the only manta ray ever displayed in a U.S. aquarium. Nandi lives in the "Ocean Voyager" section of the aquarium along with whale sharks and hammerhead sharks. You can also see a preserved giant squid specimen in the "Cold Water Quest" gallery.

Centennial Olympic Park
Centennial Park was constructed for the 1996 Olympic Games as a gathering place for spectators and as an enduring landmark for the enjoyment of Atlanta's residents and visitors. The Fountain of Rings is the most popular attraction and a reminder of the important legacy of the Olympics. At regular intervals throughout the day, the fountains shoot water from the Olympic ring symbol in a choreographed routine to the music of diverse artists and composers including Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Tchaikovsky. Throughout the year the park hosts many free community events such as fireworks displays and live musical performances.

Atlanta Botanical Garden
Nature lovers and gardeners will delight in the offerings of the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The garden features indoor and outdoor plant collections including a "Desert House," "Orchid Hall" and "Orangerie." The Orangerie houses the tropical and subtropical plants that are important parts of our daily lives, like tea and coffee, pepper and cocoa. The tropical conservatory is notable for its displays of animals like turtles, frogs and birds in addition to plants in order to demonstrate the symbiosis of the natural world.
