Extra Fees
Las Vegas hotels hotels may advertise bargain hotel room rates, but once they finish tacking on the extra "resort fees" and other obscure charges, you realize those bargains aren't so great. These fees are not charged at all hotels (like the Bellagio) but they are charged at many which have a resort or spa. They are billed as resort fees. Remember to ask about these fees before you reserve a room. Many hotels that charge them won't remove them from your bill even if you ask after the fact. In 2009, the Luxor, New York, NY, Excalibur and Stratosphere were among those charging small fees under $5. Trump Hotel and Casino adds on more than $15 while Red Rock and M Resort add an additional $25.
How to Get those Free "Comps"
A comp is a free or "comp" item offered by a casino. It is usually reserved for the high rollers. Everyone knows about them but few really understand why they are offered and how to get them. In fact, you may have already been entitled to get a free comp you just didn't know it. The "whales" (gamblers who spend thousands at the tables) receive free rooms, spa passes and tickets to shows. But if you play generously and bet large on each hand ($10 to $25 at least) and play for more than three hours, you need to approach the pit boss and politely ask them for a list of comps. Only ask if you have been playing for more than three hours and betting large. Small free items are always available for those who gamble away their money at the casinos.
Coffee and Cars in Las Vegas
This is a locals' hot spot for car enthusiasts. It is a car show that is held in a strip mall parking lot on Sunday morning beginning at 7 and ending at 10. There are hundreds of classic cars and exotic sports cars, as well as coffee from local shops. It is a real locals' event, but one that some of your golf buddies really might appreciate.

One Six Sky Lounge
A great place to take in a real view of the surrounding valley is the One Six Sky Lounge. It is located on the 16th floor of the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino, so the views are worth the trip down Boulder Highway. Since it is located off the Strip, its a great place to wind down after your trip or just to get away from the craze of the main drag. Enjoy a modern atmosphere, nightlife, great drinks and tapas while you view the sprawling canvas of desert scenery through the lounge windows.
