Budget Travel Guide to Las Vegas

Budget Travel Guide to Las Vegas
Las Vegas is one of the best travel destinations in the world and there is no shortage of choices for a golfer wanting to get a few rounds in while on vacation. Although Vegas is known for its glitz, glamor and gambling, there is still plenty to do and many ways to save money for those traveling on a limited budget.

Travel During the Week

If it is possible, plan to visit Vegas between Sunday and Friday. Many people from Southern California drive to Vegas on Friday night and drive back home Sunday night, so hotels try to fill their rooms for Sunday night through Thursday night. They will often provide good discounts for this part of the week.

Don't Make Reservations Too Soon

Don't book your hotel room too far in advance or you might miss out on a great deal. Wait until about two weeks before your trip and you will find plenty of great deals being offered, especially for weekdays.

Cheap Golf

If you are not too particular about the quality of the golf course, there are numerous courses in the Vegas area that charge reasonable fees. The Los Prados and Eagle Crest golf courses are two of the cheapest with $45 green fees for the weekend on these semi-private courses. If you don't mind playing less than 18 holes, you can go even cheaper. The Angel Park Golf Club Cloud 9 is a public nine-hole course that charges just $22 on weekends.

Cheap Food

For the most economical meals with better quality than fast food restaurants, eat at a casino. The casinos try to bring in people to gamble by providing inexpensive dining choices. Circus Circus is one of many casinos that has all-you-can-eat buffets.

Free Entertainment

After you're done playing golf, you have plenty of options for entertainment. Many casinos and shopping malls offer free entertainment to bring in customers. Some of the more popular ones are The Sirens of Treasure Island, a musical show in front of the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino; the Volcano Eruption in front of the Mirage; the Fountains of Bellagio; the Fremont Street Experience; and the Circus Acts at Circus Circus.
