Types of Golf Vacation Packages

By Steve Silverman

There are several types of golf vacation packages. One is a golf-only package that you can take with golfing friends or a golfing spouse but one that does not include other activities, such as sightseeing. All of your free time is spent golfing, with the occasional break for a meal. Another is combining golf with other activities and a family vacation. While one family member is golfing, the rest of the family can be at the beach or an amusement park. A third is an adult golf vacation in a spot such as Las Vegas.

Golf-Only Vacation

If you have three or four days off or even a week, you may want to go to a golf location such as Pinehurst, North Carolina. This course is teeming with great courses, and you can make reservations ahead online or over the phone. Pinehurst is not the place to go with young children because there aren't enough activities to keep them occupied.

Family Vacation in Orlando

This is an outstanding spot for a family vacation combined with a golf vacation. Walt Disney World offers five courses, so a golfing parent can play early in the morning and then join his family for an afternoon of fun at the Disney amusement parks. There are a slew of great golf courses in the area.

Adult Golf Vacation

Golfers who would like to take in the sights and sounds of Las Vegas can enjoy a great day of their favorite sport followed by a night in the casino. Golfers have an array of courses to chooses from in Las Vegas, and the most memorable may be the Bali Hai course. Guests will play in extreme luxury while faced with a demanding course.
