Home of Mt. Sinai Hospital
Mount Sinai is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York with a population of 9,274 in July 2007. It is home to the famous Mount Sinai Hospital, which was founded in 1852. Together with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the hospital is now one of the oldest and largest teaching hospitals in the United States. There are a number of different types of hotels in nearby Port Jefferson and other areas near Mount Sinai. The website golflink.com lists 23 18-hole and 16 nine-hole golf courses within 15 miles of the center of Mt. Sinai.

Danford's Hotel & Marina

This hotel is in Port Jefferson, a village which is two miles or six minutes from Mount Sinai, and has fine shops and restaurants. It has 86 nicely-decorated guest rooms and suites, with granite baths and showers that are spa-inspired. Rooms have 32-inch flat-screen TV, blow dryers, iron and ironing boards and high-speed Internet access. Rollaway beds and cribs are available. VIP suites have fireplaces and balconies overlooking the water. There is a 24-hour fitness center, and business center, a spa and salon. The Wave restaurant at Danford's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. The marina has 75 slips and can accommodate up to 250-foot long yachts.

Terryville Motor Lodge

Located in Port Jefferson Station, this lodge offers 50 rooms of three types: rooms with one double bed, rooms with two double beds and rooms with a king-size bed. Non-smoking rooms are available. All guests get complimentary coffee and donuts every morning. Each of the rooms are equipped with color TV with HBO and sports channels, telephone, individual heate, air conditioner and smoke detectors. Refrigerators and microwaves can be made available upon request. The front desk is manned 24 hours a day. This hotel has special rates for seniors, AAA, government and corporate travelers and students with valid IDs.

Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook

The Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook is six miles and 16 minutes from Mount Sinai. It is near attractions that include Port Jefferson Village, golf clubs, wineries, museums and malls. The hotel has 143 guest rooms, including two- and three-bedroom suites. Some suites have whirlpool tubs, and almost all rooms are non-smoking. All rooms have high-speed wireless Internet access, microwave, refrigerator, 32-inch flat-screen TV, alarm clock, telephones with voice mail, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Rollaway beds can be made available. The hotel has fitness, business and shuttle services, and meeting and banquet facilities.
