By Susanna Lo

The skyline of Indianapolis, Indiana
Indianapolis is the capital of Indiana and is known for popular sporting events, especially the Indianapolis 500 car race. Sports fans have been known to visit local landmark Indiana World War Memorial Plaza, which is dedicated to Hoosiers who died in WWI. The Eagle Creek Golf Club is home to the 36-hole, Pete Dye Championship golf course. When it comes to cuisine, Indianapolis has a strong European heritage, including some top Russian dining experiences.

If you're craving pickles, herrings, sausage or dumplings, then Babushka's Deli is the place to go in Indianapolis. The restaurant is known for freshly made pelmeni and varenikhi, varieties of Russian dumplings filled with meats, cheeses and sometimes even dried fruit. Babushka's will first tempt you with a multitude of pickle jars when you walk into the deli, then excite you with many choices of Russian dried salamis and stuffed sausages. It even has a large selection of Russian wines and beer.
