Gloster, Mississippi, is a small town in Amite County. It is the hometown of Lorraine Hansberry, playwright of "A Raisin in the Sun" as well as Barney Poole, an American football star. Gloster is also home to a nine-hole golf course at Pine Hills Country Club with a par of 36. There is only one hotel in Gloster, with several in the nearby town of Natchez.

While the Glostonian lacks wireless Internet access, it does offer other basic amenities, including an on-site gas station. Dunleith Historic Inn
Natchez, just northwest of Gloster, has two golf courses, the Beau Pre Country Club (an 18-hole par 72 course) and the Duncan Park Golf Course (an 18-hole par 71 course). That city's Dunleith Historic Inn features 24 guest rooms and two suites, one located in the main house and one in the Dairy Barn. All rooms feature private bathrooms and guests receive bathrobes and access to hair dryers. Guests staying in the suites are treated to a private Jacuzzi tub. Guests can dine on-site at the Castle Restaurant and Pub, which specializes in southern cooking. Also located on site is Bowie's Tavern, a bar that was once touted in the late 19th century as the "largest bar in Western Mississippi" and hosts live music each weekend.

Monmouth Plantation
Monmouth Plantation boasts 30 individually decorated guest rooms in the theme of the antebellum era and has received the Four Diamond award from the American AAA. The hotel's rooms cover eight buildings on the grounds. Guests receive free luxury toiletries, a free cocktail hour, a tour of the main house and a free breakfast. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in each room and in common areas. Guests can dine on-site at the 1818 restaurant, which serves up dishes like fried green tomatoes, sweetbread and short ribs in an elegant, "white-tablecloth" atmosphere.
