Pet Friendly Hotels Near Kiawah Island, SC

Kiawah Island was named for the Kiawah (KEE-a-wah) Indians. Incorporated in 1988, this beach and golf resort town is 15 miles south of Charleston. Local attractions include Beachwalker County Park, Turtle Point, Cougar Point, and Osprey Point golf courses, and the Ocean Course which is the most popular golf course in Kiawah Island and a former site of the Ryder and World Cups and a PGA Championship. For those visiting the Kiawah Island area with a four-legged companion, there are pet-friendly hotels available.

Kiawah Island Golf Resort

The only pet-friendly lodging location in Kiawah Island is the Kiawah Island Golf Resort that is comprised of a hotel and the resort villas. Pets are allowed in the villas at a $25 per day pet fee with no weight restrictions, and leashed pets are allowed anywhere on the property. The two categories of villas that allow pets are the Resort and Deluxe class. Both come with kitchens complete with modern appliances, balconies, patios, and adjoining living and dining rooms. The Deluxe villas are the more expensive of the two. All guests of the resort also enjoy preferred tee times and 25 percent off at any of the five world-renowned golf courses on the property.

Residence Inn Charleston Riverview

The Residence Inn Charleston Riverview is a pet-friendly hotel that charges guests a $100 pet fee for the entire stay for up to two pets per room with no breed or weight restrictions. Located among the city's historic homes, waterfront marinas, and southern plantations, this property is just a short trip from the Ashley River. Other local attractions include the South Carolina Aquarium, Palmetto Carriage Works, and the Charleston Battery. With its pink exterior, the Residence Inn Charleston has guest rooms and suites that are modernly designed with a separate living room area. Amenities include a weekday manager's reception, complimentary hot breakfast, and complimentary evening shuttle service to the historic district.

Sheraton Charleston Airport Hotel

The Sheraton Charleston Airport Hotel is a pet-friendly property that charges an additional flat fee of $40 for all pets up to 40 pounds. This hotel is located between the Charleston International Airport and historic downtown. The Sheraton Charleston Airport is elegantly designed with modern furnishings and decorations in hues of brown and creme. There are 10,000 feet of banquet facilities available for business and social gatherings. The guest rooms and suites have premium bedding, executive work desks, and 27-inch TVs. Amenities include an outdoor pool complete with cabanas and plush seating, a heated indoor pool, and fitness facilities.
