As a part of the Las Cruces Metropolitan Area, Santa Teresa had a population of just 2,607, according to the 2000 census. With a wine list that is so extensive it runs 112 pages long, Billy Crew's has a full bar and package liquor store in the back of the restaurant. There is live musical entertainment Wednesday through Saturday night with dancing, and patio seating is available. The menu has such Southern delicacies such as Rocky Mountain Oysters. House specialties include French cut lamb chops, shrimp scampi and several types of steak such as New York strip and filet mignon.

Partially due to the annual mix of mild and hot temperatures, Dairy Queen in Santa Teresa offers patrons a full food menu, as well as all of its DQ treats all year-round. Dairy Queen is an international chain with restaurants around the world in locations such as France, Thailand, Egypt and Mexico. The "eats" menu includes the half pound Flame Thrower Grill Burger that is 100 percent beef topped with DQ's fiery sauce, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce and jalapeno bacon. The Riviera Restaurant is less than five miles east of Santa Teresa in El Paso and has a motto of "guaranteed fresh or free". This restaurant has a mission geared toward quality as the red chilies are locally grown and used in the red sauce, all of the cheese used is aged white cheddar, and only lean ground beef is used in recipes that call for it. There is also a cantina that has patio dining available whenever weather permits. Traditional Mexican fare is served here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner entrees include such favorites as chile con queso and the signature nachos Riviera that are topped with refried beans, shredded cheddar cheese, jalapenos and your choice of beef or chicken.
