Glasgow is the largest Scottish city, one of the largest in the entire United Kingdom and is home to many cultural, recreational and dining opportunities. Included in the latter are many fine Indian restaurants. There are many theaters in Glasgow, including Theatre Royal, Citizens Theatre and The King's Theatre. Other cultural and recreational highlights include the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Clyde Auditorium, the Museum of Transport and many international comedy, film and music festivals as well as plenty of nightclubs. Of course there are also many fine golf courses in Glasgow, including Ruchill Golf Course, Cathkin Braes Golf Club, Haggs Castle and Cowglen Golf Club.

The Wee Curry Shop

Located right in the heart of the city, within short walking distance of the Glasgow School of Art, The Wee Curry Shop offers authentic Indian food in a relaxed setting. Traditional lamb, chicken, vegetable and prawn dishes are featured. The Wee Curry Shop serves lunch and dinner six days a week, and dinner on Sundays. There's an open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. There is both a regular, set menu and an a la carte menu. Children and families are always welcome.

Shish Mahal

For an eclectic mix of many different Indian cooking styles mixed with a European influence, Shish Mahal is the place to go while in Glasgow. House specialties include lamb dishes and tuna steak. There's a separate a la carte menu, as well as two lunch menus, a banquet menu, a dessert menu and an extensive wine list. Shish Mahal has been around since the '60s and is an institution in the area. Reservations are accepted, but must be made 48 hours in advance and must be canceled, if necessary, with 24 hour notice.

Ashoka

Ashoka is part of a 14 restaurant chain serving Indian cuisine in Glasgow for decades. Tandoori dishes (mixed grill, chicken, lamb), vegetarian dishes and Indian breads and rices are featured. There is a set menu, as well as an a la carte menu. Children and families are always welcome in this casual, laid-back restaurant. Reservations are accepted and encouraged, and for added convenience tables can even be booked online through its website. Dining in as well as take-away and delivery are offered.
