Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman
Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur has nearly a dozen private universities to tour. The oldest, Tunku Abdul Rahman University, was built in 1972 but actually became private in 2002. The university has several programs, including the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technologies. Tours are granted Monday through Friday.
While in Kuala Lumpur, make sure to check out the Pandanusa Golf Club that offers a different golfing experience than one you would find in North America or western Europe. The Pandanusa is a championship style, 18-hole par-72 course that stretches for more than 5,700 yards and is surrounded by the Straits of Malacca.

Multimedia University
Like the United States, Malaysia is made up of states that work together to form a union. While America has 50, Malaysia has 13. One such state, Malacca, boasts the first college to change to private status, Multimedia University (MMU). The founders of the university saw MMU as a way to equip students to help be a part of the development of the high-technology industry. It is not unlike the Silicon Valley-Stanford model in the United States. With more than 22,000 students, it is also one of the largest universities.
One of Malaysia's largest golf facilities, A'Famosa Golf Resort, boasts three 9-hole courses--the Crocodile Course, the Palm Course and the Rocky Course. The entire facility is situated over 1,000 acres of land. Each of the courses features natural undulations and man-made lakes with long fairways and an ocean breeze.
