The Catalyst
The Catalyst is a large nightclub and concert venue that provides an array of nightlife entertainment, so check the venue's event calendar before making plans. Live music is a regular feature with acts ranging from national touring groups to local bands. When no bands are scheduled, recorded dance and rock music is often pumped through the venue's powerful speakers while crowds of up to 800 dance on the ballroom floor. The main level has a 100-foot-long bar, while the top floor has an additional bar, game room and large balcony that provides an excellent view of the stage. The Catalyst is located just over 2 miles from the Pasatiempo Golf Club, home to an 18-hole course that has received numerous awards from Golf Magazine, Golfweek Magazine and Golf Digest Magazine, including a spot on the coveted Golf Magazine Top 100 Holes in the World list.

The Blue Lagoon
Although The Blue Lagoon is a much smaller venue than The Catalyst, it offers a great mix of live music dance parties and more traditional clubbing experiences with professional DJs. The tropical-themed bar and dance club usually books classic and modern rock bands for live music nights, and nightly themes (such as '80s Night, Goth Night and Old School Night) apply during the rest of the week. A rotating roster of valuable drink specials is also offered throughout the week. The Blue Lagoon is located just over 2 miles from the De Laveaga Golf Course, an 18-hole par-72 course with a 40-tee driving range.

The Planet Gemini
The Planet Gemini hosts a live comedy show every Friday and Saturday night, which is immediately followed by a high-energy dance club experience that lasts until the early hours of the morning. Special theme nights, such as Country Night and Latin Night, fill the entertainment calendar the rest of the week, and an on-site modern American restaurant serves tasty dishes in a dark and sophisticated dining room. Cover charges for comedy and dancing vary, and guests can purchase tickets either at the door or in advance. The Planet Gemini is located less than a half mile from the Monterey Pines Golf Course, an 18-hole course built in 2009 that has been ranked among the Golflink Top 100 golf courses.
