Located at the intersection of three states (Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky), Wickliffe sits on the Mississippi River bank overlooking the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. It was near this spot that Lewis and Clark began their historic expedition. Your expedition to the area will reveal numerous small towns along the extreme ends of their respective states. If you need a drink, plan on crossing a river because Wickliffe is in a dry county. If your adventures include golf, then you'll find several public courses offering 18 holes in the Kentucky area including the Dogwood Hills Golf Course in Cunningham, Silos Golf Course in Kevil and Paxton Park in Paducah.
Wickliffe Motel
When it comes to staying in Wickliffe, there is only one choice--the Wickliffe Motel. This is a no-frill establishment in a no-frills town. The rates are excellent but the accommodation is spartan. Rooms have the essentials and little else. You will find a mini refrigerator and TV with premium channels but no Wi-Fi. What the hotel lacks in amenities it makes up for with amazing water pressure that will bring you back to life each morning. If you need more amenities, you will have to travel to nearby Cairo, but for Wickliffe, this is it.
