HSF
HSF is a Chinatown favorite that has been delighting diners since 1972. Known for its wide variety of dim sum, the restaurant offers top quality, authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant is usually crowded, so don't be surprised if you have to share a table. Dim sum is presented on rolling carts, from which diners select their dishes. Specialties include hakao (translucent shrimp-filled dumplings) served with chili sauce, Hong Kong-style barbecue spare ribs and clams in black bean sauce. HSF is large by Chinatown standards and features pleasing decor in reds and yellows.

Grand Sichuan
The Grand Sichuan (not related to other Chinese restaurants of the same name around the city) is located on Canal Street in the heart of New York's Chinatown. Its main attraction is its Chongqing-style hot pot specialties. Dishes include vegetable, meat and noodle selections in both spicy and mild broths. Both locals and tourists regularly dine at this authentic, moderately priced Chinatown restaurant.

Steamed and baked chicken and pork buns are a favorite at this moderately priced Canal Street restaurant, whose name translates to New World Tea Cafeteria. Diners appreciate the fast, friendly service, with a steaming glass of hot tea arriving at your table as soon as you sit down. There is a main menu and a roast pig/roast duck counter. Other specialties include shrimp noodle, chicken ho fun noodle and a variety of desserts.
