New Restaurants in Cleveland, Ohio
Downtown Cleveland, Ohio, is home to many notable restaurants, several that are owned by well-known chefs including the Beard Award-winning chef Michael Symon, also known as the Iron Chef on television. The Cleveland area is also home to the Oakwood and Canterbury Golf Clubs and the greens at Mastick Woods and the Shaker Heights Country Club. After time on the greens, the city offers a number of high-end, gourmet eateries open for lunch and dinner.

Darna Moroccan Cuisine

The Darna, a Moroccan fusion restaurant, is a new eatery in the Shaker Square area of Cleveland. The high-end restaurant offers a lunch menu that features vegetarian, lamb and chicken couscous, salmon, salads and Harira soup. The dinner menu features a choice of tapas, meat, game birds, seafood and shellfish dishes. Specialty martinis and wine also are available. Dining tables are located on the outdoor patio for sunny days and warm evenings. Appropriate dress is business casual. Metered parking is available on the street or guests may take the RTA Blue or Green Line trains to avoid parking worries. Reservations are not required.

Dante

Dante is the new brainchild of local Chef Dante Boccuzzi who transformed the former Third Federal Savings & Loan in the Tremont area of Cleveland into a restaurant in the winter 2009. Special seating includes tables in "The Vault," at the Chef's Table in the kitchen, or at tables on the patio, which is open year-round. The dinner menu includes gourmet dishes incorporating duck, salmon, oysters, beef tenderloin, tuna and handmade pastas. A number of menu options are available for vegetarian diners, including soups and salads. Parking is available in the supervised lot adjacent to the restaurant. Dante is open for dinner and is closed on Sunday. Reservations are required and may be made via email or by phone.

L'Albatros Brasserie & Bar

The Neo-French L'Albatros Brasserie and Bar, a new eatery by restaurateur Zachary Bruell, was named "Best New Restaurant" by Metromix Cleveland and one of "America's Best New Restaurants" in 2009 by Esquire magazine. The University Circle eatery, located in a building that once housed a carriage company, features fusion dishes that incorporate walleye, lobster, duck, hanger steak, mussels, scallops and lamb. Dress is upscale and reservations are required and may be made online or by phone. Both street and valet parking are available.
