Hotels in Sotogrande
Thanks to professionals like Seve Ballesteros, Jose Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia, golf has really taken off in Spain, which has some of the world's best courses. Sotogrande hosts the 18-hole Sotogrande Golf Course, which measures almost 7,000 yards from the championship tees, and the world-famous par-71 Valderrama Golf Club, which is also about 7,000 yards long. Some wonderful hotels in Sotogrande pamper you from the time you arrive.

Hotel Club Marítimo de Sotogrande

The "Grande Dame" of Sotogrande hotels offers service unlike anywhere else in Europe. The staff makes check-in painless, and guests receive remarkable service from the maids and the opulent dining room's waitstaff. You can work out in the fitness center, swim in the pool, visit the hair salon or relax in the lounge with your choice of libation. If you must do business during your stay, the hotel's business center can provide you with fax and copying services. The rooms come with a host of amenities, including cable television, dial-up Internet access and telephones. And the hotel provides babysitting services for those who have small children and would like to step out for an evening or two.

Hotel Almenara

This 148-room hotel sits right in the middle of a 27-hole golf course designed by the world-famous golf architect Dave Thomas. He set the course up so that it meanders through nature, including two large lakes surrounded by oak, cork and pine trees. In addition, the hotel hosts the Sotogrande Golf Academy, where you can take a lesson or two, and the beach club offers two pools, one outdoor and one indoor. Each morning, waken to a sumptuous breakfast in the restaurant after having picked up a free daily newspaper in the lobby. Work out in the fitness center and rest those weary muscles in the on-site spa tub. Enjoy your leisure time in your room that has many amenities such as a private minibar and cable television.

Las Camelias

The very comfortable Las Camelias has a rating of one star from several European rating agencies, because some to the decor is a bit dated. However, that doesn't deter the staff from making you feel very much at home. The beautifully situated hotel lies only one hour from Malaga International Airport. Gibraltar is a 20-minute ride away, and Tangiers in northern Africa is less that one hour away by boat. Each of the 21 standard size rooms can accommodate 2 to 3 people and comes with amenities such as satellite television, a telephone and a minibar. For those with six people in their party, Las Camelias offers apartments that have two double bedrooms, two baths, a totally equipped kitchen and a dining room.
