Dale Lodge Hotel
Eighteenth-century Dale Lodge stands in a private three-acre garden with lots of room for dogs. The Lodge welcomes all canines that travel with their own food and bedding. Dogs, with their masters, have the run of the place, except for the restaurants and luxury rooms. Owners returning from dog-accompanied excursions can stop for a drink at Tweedies Bar with their pets by their sides. A one-time fee covers a dog's entire stay.
Each of the 12 nonsmoking bedrooms has bath facilities with designer toiletries, complimentary Wi-Fi, a direct-dial phone and a flat-screen television. Luxury rooms offer seating areas, robes and slippers. Room prices include access to the indoor pool and other leisure facilities at the Langdale Spa and Country Club Hotel six minutes away.
Both the formal Lodge Restaurant and casual Tweedies Restaurant serve British, Australian and French fare. The flagstone floor and wood-burning stove add to the atmosphere at Tweedies Bar, which features a combination of Cumbrian pub food and traditional British cuisine.

Swan Hotel
This mid-17th century coaching inn is the perfect Lakes District jumping-off point for hikers and cyclists. The Swan arranges tee times at Windermere, Keswick and several other area golf clubs. Both muddy hiking boots and muddy canines are welcome in Walkers Bar, and the hotel charges an additional nightly fee for each dog.

The hotel's Courtyard and Four Seasons restaurants both serve formal prix fixe dinners. The Lamb Inn next door offers a good selection of ales and traditional pub snacks, lunches and dinners.
