German Restaurants Near Mississauga
The sixth largest city in Canada, Mississauga sits along Lake Ontario about 17 miles southwest of Toronto. For golfers, the city is home to numerous courses, such as Vaughan Valley Golf Club, Derrydale Golf Course and Lakeview Golf Course. After a day of traversing the fairways, the Mississauga area offers a variety of dining options, including several German restaurants.

The Blue Danube

Located in the nearby town of Scarborough, Ontario, the Blue Danube Restaurant is around 23 miles from the 18-hole municipal golf course at Vaughan Valley Golf Club. The menu begins with the restaurant's traditional German goulash soup and selection of appetizers and salads like pickled Bismark herrings. Amongst the German entrees is the Schweinebraten mit Rotkraut, sliced roasted pork loin served with red cabbage. The restaurant also features the Danube-Swabian Club Platter for two people, which includes breaded veal, smoked German bacon, sausages with sauerkraut and dumplings. For dessert, try the house-made apple strudel. The Blue Danube is open daily for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. Reservations are recommended.

The Apricot Tree Cafe

Situated in the Sherwood Forest Village shopping center in Mississauga, the Apricot Tree Cafe is around 10 miles from the 18-hole, municipal Derrydale Golf Course, also in Mississauga. The restaurant features an open kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chef prepare their entrees. The dinner menu changes frequently, but always includes a sampling of German cuisine like smoked salmon in sour cream and Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and a side salad. Dessert selections include a variety of crepes, such as the Romanoff with fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. The Apricot Tree Cafe is open daily for lunch and dinner, with the exception of Sundays, when the restaurant is closed.

Little Bavaria German Restaurant

In Scarborough, Ontario, Little Bavaria German Restaurant is approximately 24 miles from 18-hole Lakeview Golf Course. To start the meal, Little Bavaria offers numerous appetizers like the herring in sour cream. The menu features German entrees like the cordon bleu schnitzel, bratwurst, Bavarian cabbage rolls and zuricher art--sliced veal, sauteed mushrooms in a creamy white wine. The bar menu includes German beers on draft and a selection of German wines. Desserts served by the restaurants cherry jubilees. Little Bavaria is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday, dinners from Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant is closed in Sunday.
