Hotels in D.C. on the Metro Line
With 86 stations and 106 miles of track, the D.C. Metro takes passengers on routes in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Each passenger needs an individual farecard. Golf courses near Metro stations include the East Potomac Park Golf Course (get off at the Smithsonian stop), with an 18-hole course and two nine-hole courses, where you can tee off with a view of the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol.

L'Enfant Plaza Hotel

Located right above a Metro stop served by four different lines, this hotel places you four stops from Washington-Reagan National Airport. You'll also be steps away from the Washington Mall with its free museums, the Reflecting Pool, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. Accommodations in this austerely modern building of concrete and glass include 370 rooms with double and king beds, as well as "superior view" versions with views of city monuments. The 10 suites, more than twice as large, include balconies with views of monuments, the Potomac River or the downtown skyline. You can swim in a year-round rooftop pool, work out in the fitness center or receive in-room spa treatments. On-site dining options include the American Grill contemporary bistro and the Foggy Brew Pub. Check with the hotel for special packages for families, travelers with pets, romance and business travelers.

The Quincy

If you need to get to the Orange Line's connections to the Smithsonian and northern Virginia, the Blue Line's connection to the Pentagon and Reagan National or the Red Line's loop to Union Station, Metro Center and the Maryland suburbs, the Quincy has you covered. It's located at Connecticut Avenue and K Street, two blocks from Farragut West's Blue and Orange lines and Farragut North on the Red Line. Its 99 suites include king studios, with a king-size bed, desk and sectional sofa; double suites with two double beds and a living room sofa; and executive studio suites with a queen-size bed and a full sofa bed. A "Be Unplugged" special encourages you to give up the Blackberry and stroll D.C. streets, keeping a journal. Amenities include two on-site restaurants and a complete game library. Adamstein and Demetriou designers provide a boutique-like, East Asian touch to the suites.
