Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia
More than 600 works by Georgia artists permanently adorn the exhibit space of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. The pieces range from modern digital to contemporary painting, dating from 1940 to present. According to the museum's website, it "collects and archives significant, contemporary works by the artists of the state of Georgia. To place our artists in a global context, the museum's exhibitions include Georgia artists and artists from around the world." Besides the permanent artwork, the Museum of Contemporary Art also brings in regular temporary exhibits of both solo Georgia artists and group exhibitions of national or international artists. In 2009, the museum featured 14 temporary exhibitions. For golf lovers, the Bobby Jones Golf Course is located about a half-mile away from the museum. Designed by John Van Kleek, the Bobby Jones Golf Course occupies land near the historic Peachtree Battle Creek, which affects play in five of the 18 holes.

Atlanta Botanical Garden
Atlanta Botanical Garden encompasses 30 acres filled with plants such as hydrangea, Welwitschia mirabilis and water lotus. Atlanta Botanical Garden has plants from nearly every environment and continent. For the kids, the fountain in the children's garden makes a great place to cool off. The kid-oriented gardens around the fountain feature the garden of the children's storybook "The Tale of Peter Rabbit." The Japanese garden adds some zen to the grounds. In the Under Glass garden, geckos, quails and poisonous frogs are housed and the song joyfully affects the atmosphere of the garden. Atlanta Botanical Garden also includes a traditional rose garden, orchard section and the specialty exhibit, which features carnivorous plants. Large trees provide shade to the grounds and provided the springboard for one of the tree house art exhibits in 2003. The art exhibits change each year. The garden opens at night one day a week to give an entirely different view of the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
