Located in Taney County, Branson is a major tourist destination in southern Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city has a population of just over 6,000 residents and was the inspiration behind the television show "The Beverly Hillbillies." It is home to over 40 theaters, including the Caravelle Theater, the Branson Star Theater and the Hamner Barber Theater. Some local attractions are the Ozark Mountains, the Mount Pleasant Winery and Lake Taneycome. Golfing options are the public 18-hole Don Gardner Par III Golf Course and the public 18-hole Thousand Hills Golf Resort course.

A locally owned business just five miles from Old Branson, the Cardinal Hill Cottages offers accommodations to the southwest of downtown Branson.
