Hotels in Matsumoto
Located 30 miles southwest of Nagano, Matsumoto is a popular destination for its castle and Nakamachi district, which is an area of white-walled houses. Matsumoto is also an access point for the Japanese Alps and has an 18-hole golf course at the Matsumoto Country Club. There are several hotel options in the city.

Kamikochi Imperial Hotel

Built in 1933, this 75-room hotel is located within the Kamikochi National Park. Room options range from standard twins to rooms with veranda and suites. Besides the main dining room where breakfast is served, there are two restaurants to choose from: the French Alpen Rose and the Japanese restaurant Azusa-An. The Imperial Hotel requires advance reservations; the Matsumoto City government website even advises booking a year in advance.
