Kingston is in Ulster County in the State of New York and located 91 miles north of New York City. The discovery of Kingston dates back to 1652, when the Dutch arrived. Filled with history and architecture, this city has attractions, restaurants, local shopping venues and golf courses like the Green Acres Golf Club.

The Trolley Museum of New York

Founded in 1955, The Trolley Museum of New York offers rides to the public through exhibits to share the role it played in the Hudson Valley region and the rich history of rail transportation. Visitors can see the displays of subway, rapid transit and trolley cars from Europe and the United States and visit the museum store for toys and souvenirs. There are picnic grounds at the shore of the Hudson River and West Strand Park trolley stops. This museum is on the original site of the Delaware and Ulster Railroad yards and golfers can play a round at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, a short drive from the museum.

Ulster Performing Arts Center

The Broadway Theater of Ulster Performing Arts Center opened in 1924 as a vaudeville house/movie palace. This center has years of history and was designed by famed architect Douglas P. Hall. Today, this historic center is a premier performing arts venue in the Hudson Valley in Kingston, New York. With a 1500-seating capacity, this theater's stage has headlined music, dance and theater performances by Loretta Lynn, B.B. King and Tony Bennett. After visiting the museum, golfers can head over to the Twaalfskil Golf club for a round or two on an 18-hole course.

Sawkill Family Ski Center and Summer Recreation Park

The Sawkill Family Ski Center offers year-round activities and fun for the whole family to enjoy. Seasonal snowboarding, skiing, water slides, go-cart track and tubing are all available for a fee, when visiting the center. There is a recreational facility in the Catskill Mountain range near Kingston and Woodstock, New York for beginning skiers, snow tubers and snowboarders. A ski shop is on-site for visitors needing equipment like skis, boots or helmets. This center is also located near the Green Acres Golf Club and golfers can swing by to play a round.
