Founded during the 1830s, Lake Zurich, Illinois is a community located about 37 miles northwest of Chicago, home to over 18,000 residents, according to the community's official website. Lake Zurich Golf Club opened in 1895 and is a nine-hole regulation-size course. After a round of golf on this 35-par course, there are a number of dining options to enjoy in the village, including three Italian restaurants.

Sapore Trattoria

Located less than 1.5 miles from the Lake Zurich Golf Club, Sapore Trattoria is owned by Chef Giacomo Parisi, a native of the Sicily region of Italy. The menu of Sapore Trattoria features traditional Italian appetizers like mozzarella pomidoro--slices of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes dressed with olive oil and fresh basil leaves. For the main course, Parisi creates a number of pasta, veal, chicken, beef and fresh fish entrees. Sapore Trattoria is open for dinner every day except Monday, with hours varying based upon reservation times for the evening.

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is a chain of pizza shops found throughout Illinois. The Lake Zurich location is a short 3.25 miles from Lake Zurich Golf Club and offers a number of Italian pasta dishes for takeout and delivery, in addition to the restaurant's famous pizzas. The pasta special of the house, penne ala Malnati, consists of penne pasta covered in a blend of romano, cream and meat sauce, sprinkled with mozzarella cheese and then baked. Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is open for lunch and dinner Friday through Sunday, and for dinner only Monday through Thursday.

Rosati's Pizza

Rosati's Pizza is a nationwide chain of pizzerias founded in Chicago during the early 20th century. Situated approximately 2 miles from the golf club, the Lake Zurich location offers a number of specialty pizzas, including the Rosati's monster--a pizza covered with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and green and black olives on a thin crust. Rosati's menu also includes a number of pastas prepared with homemade sauce, as well as calzones. The Lake Zurich Rosati's Pizza is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
