Atanta, Georgia has a rich history, most of which is centered around the city's role in the American Civil War when it served as major railroad and arms hub. Today, it is known for its historic architecture, vibrant night life and as one of the most prominent professional sports markets in the country. Among the Atlanta bustle is several jazz clubs and restaurants. Each features performances by some of the best local, regional and national artists on the scene. Located near an array of hotels and the many area golf courses, such as the Charlie Yates Golf Course and Bobby Jones Golf Club, Atlanta jazz clubs serve as significant perks for a fulfilling Atlanta golf excursion.

Churchill Grounds

Churchill Grounds is known as Atlanta's premier jazz club. Relatively small, it features a full bar, intimate seating and shows from some the city's best musicians and performances by the country's top jazz artists. Bill Summers, Justin Chesarek and Danny Harper are just three of club's regular performers. Casual dress is acceptable. Guests should expect to pay a cover charge, which varies with each show. Churchill Grounds features live music every night but Monday and hosts regular open-mic jam sessions.

Sambuca

Sambuca is known for its rock-tinged version of jazz and one of the Atlanta's best cocktail lounges and restaurants, according to travel agent, Kristin Martin of 1080 Tix and Travel. Sambuca features a relatively upscale atmosphere where martinis are the drink of choice as guests listen to contemporary and free-form jazz from artists, such as Maria Howell, Matt Wauchope and Keisha Jackson. The restaurant includes an elegant menu of salads, soups and entrees, such as sea bass skewers and coconut shrimp. Sambuca is open seven days a week. Business casual dress is acceptable.

Apache Cafe

Apache Cafe is sizable club that seats approximately 300. It features an array of live performances from several genres including hip-hop, soul and jazz, which comes from a wide selection of local and regional performers. The cafe menu consists of a breakfast dishes (served any time), salads and light entrees, such as barbecued skewers (shrimp and chicken) and Bermuda-style tacos (grilled tilapia, mango salsa and black beans). Premium wine, imported beer, top-shelf martinis and specialty coffee drinks make up the bar menu. Apache encourages casual dress.
