Pittsburgh has gone through a revival since being the king of the steel manufacturing industry for close to a century. The city has transformed itself to a center for technology, health care, banking and education. The predominant industries in Pittsburgh have changed, but its strong golf heritage continues. The Pittsburgh area boasts eight courses rated four out of five stars in the "Golf Digest" Best Places to Play list. Travelers should consider staying at one of Pittsburgh's downtown hotels on their next golfing excursion.
