Restaurants in West Houston
West Houston is a sprawling community stretching from the edge of midtown to the famous Galleria Mall. It also features Rice University, parks like Buffalo Bayou and golf courses like Hermann Park and River Oaks. You can find several restaurants of all styles throughout Houston's western area.

Gravitas Restaurant

Located three blocks south of Allen Parkway along the Buffalo Bayou Park, Gravitas is open for lunch on weekdays, brunch on Sundays and dinner everyday. Entrees include roasted chicken, veal cordon bleu, duck legs, steak frite and mussels, and Gravitas also serves plenty of pastas, soups, salads and appetizers. Special events include "Chick Flick Nights" and specials on mimosas and bellinis on Sundays.

Mark's Restaurant Houston

Mark's, called "Houston's Most Romantic Restaurant," is housed inside a renovated 1920s church at Westheimer and Dunlavy. The menu changes frequently as the restaurant receives new ingredients, featuring soups like Lobster Seafood Bisque and various types of fish, veal, pork, lamb, chicken and duck. Guests can customize their own dinner dishes.

Benjy's Restaurant

Located in the Rice Village at the corner of Kelvin and Dunstan, Benjy's advertises itself as "modern American dining." Open for lunch and dinner, the menu features salads, like butter lettuce and chopped Asian; wood oven-cooked pizzas; beef filet and numerous chicken and fish dishes. Sunday brunch includes omelets, salads and sandwiches, and the Sunday Supper Menu features different selections each week.

La Griglia Restaurant‎

This Italian restaurant, located a few blocks south of Kirby Drive and Buffalo Bayou Park, offers dining within colorful surroundings of murals and mosaics. Open for lunch and dinner on weekdays and dinner on weekends, the menu offers a list of entrees that includes rotisserie chicken, veal romano, wild boar chop and numerous types of seafood, pizza and pasta. Happy hour at the bar includes specials on martinis, wine, beer and other signature drinks.
