39 Rue De Jean is a brasserie-style cafe and bar where guests enjoy sushi selections and oysters, shrimp and clams at its raw bar, as well as appetizers like escargot and entrees including braised rabbit and chicken francaise. Plats du jour are available seven days a week and entrees range in price from about $18 to $26 (as of 2009). Food & Travel magazine has called this venue a "place to brag about" and attire is elegant-casual. The Patriots Point Links on Charleston Harbor is just 2 miles away.

Gaulart & Maliclet French Cafe

At the Gaulart & Maliclet French Cafe guests will enjoy breakfast lunch and dinner in a casual environment six days of the week (closed Sundays, no dinner Mondays). Morning items include ham and cheese croissants, toasts and baguettes, while lunch consists of cheese and pate selections, vegetarian dishes and soups and salads. Dinner is the main event, and its menu features appetizers like burgundy escargot and entrees of seafood Normandy, beef fondue and vegetarian dinners. La Fourchette

La Fourchette is another French bistro option known for its romantic atmosphere and its signature cassoulet, France's national dish. Guests will enjoy appetizers like pommes frites---which are double fried in duck fat, and creme de chou-fleur, a cauliflower creamed soup. Entrees like hache parmentier (braised pork and beef) and poulet basquaise aux olives (a chicken dish) range in price from about $15 to $28 as of 2009. Dress is upscale casual.
