Amrheins'
Established in 1890, Amrheins' is home to the oldest hand-carved bar in the United States. The establishment also still has the first draft beer pump ever utilized in Boston on display for visitors. Amrheins' offers an extensive menu of pub fare and traditional New England favorites, all served in the contemporary comforts of their newly renovated dining room. Amrheins' offers a vast array of sandwiches such as their 10 oz. Angus burger, fried haddock wrap and prime rib French dip. Amrheins' was a 2009 recipient of the Best of Boston award by Boston Magazine.

The Farragut House
The Farragut House, located near Castle Island in South Boston, has all the austere charm of a traditional Irish pub. The Farragut House menu, however, is more similar to a fine dining establishment than that of a traditional pub. Farragut House Head Chef José Amilcar has designed a menu that spans culinary techniques and recipes from all over the world. Farragut's also features live Irish music every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Playwright
Voted South Boston's Best Neighborhood Bar by Improper Bostonian Magazine in 2004, the Playwright features an expansive modern dining room that seats over 200 patrons.
