Sands by the Sea York Beach
Sands by the Sea York Beach is a short distance from the beach. All the rooms have an ocean view. Accommodation types include rooms with different configurations of beds, suite-styled rooms such as a studio kitchenette, one bedroom and connecting suites, the Sea Rose suites featuring a private balcony and two cottages with two to three bedrooms each. The hotel has a pool with a waterfall. The hotel features private baths, cable television, air conditioning, heat, telephone, a no-smoking policy and outside sitting areas. The hotel is easily within walking distance to the beach and many other York Beach attractions. The York Golf and Tennis Club is one of the golf courses closer to the hotel. Donald Ross designed the 18-hole course. A golf pro is on staff and the club has a pro shop.

Blue Water Inn
With more than 30 years in operation, the Blue Water Inn offers a continental breakfast, which includes fresh fruit, cheeses, homemade bread, cereal, milk, juice, coffee and tea. The cozy six-room inn forgoes the traditional cookie-cutter style of chain hotels. Each room is different. With the exception of two rooms, each has a private bath. Most of the rooms only sleeps two. The inn, however, is extremely affordable, with rates as low as $55 per night in the off-season--September to June--as of 2009. The Blue Water Inn has an on-site restaurant overlooking the ocean that serves lobster, fresh fish, salads and steaks. Located about 10 miles from the inn is the Links at Outlook Golf Course. While closer courses exist, the Link at Outlook Golf Course is a par-71, links-styled course that stretches 6,500 yards and is surrounded by 140 acres.

Lighthouse Inn and Carriage House
The Lighthouse Inn and Carriage House is located only 300 feet from Long Sands Beach. Guests receive a continental breakfast and wireless Internet. Each room contains air conditioning, color/cable television, refrigerator, daily maid service, private bath and individually controlled heat. The Inn is open from mid-May to mid-October each year and has a seasonal, heated pool. The hotel is within walking distance of the historic Nubble Light. About 10 miles from the hotel is The Ledges Golf Club. The par-72 course opened in 1999. The course earned recognition from Golf Magazine that same year and received a 4 1/2-star rating.
