Theme Parks in South Myrtle Beach
South Myrtle Beach theme parks offer fun for the entire family, some of which possess ocean views. Roller coasters, water slides and merry-go-rounds await visitors of all ages in this coastal city. Discount tickets for area theme parks are available at many local hotels and tourism offices. Golf courses located within a 10-minute drive of the beach include the Legends Resort course, Wicked Stick Links, Man O' War and River Oaks Golf Plantation golf course.

Family Kingdom Amusement Water Park

The Family Kingdom Amusement Water Park offers a view of waves crashing against the surf while speeding around corners on a roller coaster. A total of 30 rides, including the largest Ferris wheel in the state as of December 2009, operate at this theme park. Classic bumper car and log flume rides offer thrills for visitors to this South Myrtle Beach theme park. Water slides with more than a 100-foot drop add a bit excitement to the wet rides included in a general admission ticket to this family-style theme park. Water attractions are open May through the end of August. Non-water based attractions are open for guest enjoyment from April through September.

Pavilion Nostalgia Park

The Pavilion Nostalgia Park is an old-fashioned theme park located just across the street from beachfront hotels. As of December 2009, visitors could purchase a "3 Park Pass" to visit the Pavilion, NASCAR Speedpark and the Myrtle Waves Water Park. After snacking on funnel cakes and cotton candy, guests can hop on a "horse" and ride the carousel, try their luck at midway games or travel high into the air on the "Pirate Ship" ride. This South Myrtle theme park is open during the months of January and February only when weather permits.
