Milbank is a small city in Grant County, in northeastern South Dakota, near the Minnesota border. It is a rural community located along the south fork of Whetstone Creek. Milbank is just 10 miles from Big Stone Lake, which offers some of the better walleye fishing in the state. The city also provides opportunities for snowmobiling and four-wheeling. Milbank is home to the Pine Hills Golf Club, a championship course intersected by Whetstone Creek. There are quality, comfortable hotels located within Milbank.
