Seattle is often recognized for offering outdoor activities year-round, from hiking to skiing to golf to kayaking. Fortunately, Seattle also offers plenty of indoor activities as well, for those days when you're feeling a little less adventurous, including nightclubs, karaoke and theater. If you want to get away from Seattle without having to actually leave the city, though, check out one of the area's tiki bars and experience a little bit of Hawaii without taking the long trip.
Hula Hula
This tiki bar is located just two blocks from the Seattle Center, making it central to the Space Needle and Seattle's hip Belltown neighborhood. The decor is bamboo and neon, the menu is American by Hawaii, including teriyaki and burgers, and the drinks (notably the special mai tai) are available in massive bowls. Hula Hula opens at 4 p.m. and food is served until midnight. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m., and karaoke starts nightly at 9 p.m.

Ohana
This Belltown restaurant and bar offers a fusion of Japanese and Hawaiian culture, from the decor to the menu. Sushi is offered alongside Spam (you can even get the two together), the walls and booths are bamboo, the floors are hardwood and drinks are tropically flavored. The menu is wide and offers everything from a baseball cut sirloin to katsu to bento boxes. Lunch is served from Tuesday to Friday, and Ohana is open every evening. Stop by after 9 p.m. on Wednesdays for some real Hawaiian flavor with live island music.

A Very Taki Tiki Bar
You don't need to see anything more than the name of this restaurant and bar to know that it doesn't take itself too seriously. The decor is eclectic, including Hawaiian themes and Seattle sports, and local teams are typically playing on the televisions. The recently updated menu naturally features Hawaiian traditional items like various applications of Spam, but also more diverse standards like burgers and salmon. Edmonds is a small waterfront community located 20 minutes north of Seattle, and it is definitely worth an afternoon spent shopping and exploring, and this Taki Tiki bar is a great place to finish your day.
