The Vegas Strip
One of the thrills of New Year's Eve in Las Vegas is the sheer number of revelers out on the street. Often, New Year's Eve visitors prefer not to plan an agenda ahead of time, but instead opt to wander the Vegas Strip, taking in the sights and sounds and wandering in and out of casinos to catch gambling, meals or shows. The strip is completely closed to traffic from 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve, and drinking on the streets is legal. The party is completely free and at midnight all of the casinos along the strip launch fireworks to celebrate the New Year.

The Fremont Street Experience
For a classic Las Vegas New Years, try the Fremont Street Experience. The party is slightly smaller, but still epic, and there is a light show projected on an overhead screen canopy to keep you entertained. Live music is always a big feature of Fremont street on New Year's Eve. One concert, Tributepalooza, featured tributes to David Bowie, the Eagles, the Rolling Stones and other classic rockers.

The Night Club Scene
For Las Vegas nightclubs, the New Year is just another reason to throw an outrageous party. From the open air floor and spectacular manmade waterfall of the Tryst to the 22,000 square feet, multiple dancefloors and unrivaled indulgance of Studio 54, Las Vegas has many great places to drink, mingle and dance the night away. Another destination is The Bank at the Bellagio Hotel. With beautiful dancers, powerful mood lighting and an upscale, class appearance, this is one of the best places in Vegas to toast the New Year.
