Best Course Loops In Arizona

Best Course Loops In Arizona
A golf vacation in Arizona is a great getaway for golfers from cold Northern and Midwestern states in the dead of winter. The courses are often long but fair. Wide fairways will welcome shots, but the greens can be difficult to get a read on. Going off the fairway can lead to quite a bit of trouble, and golfers can find hardpan and other difficult surfaces to hit from.

Grayhawk Golf Club

The Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale is one of the most highly rated courses in the state. It is a robust 7,135 yards and demands long driving. The par 72 course has plenty of bunkers that will lead to trouble, and if you can't keep it in the fairways you will be challenged to hit demanding recovery shots.

Desert Lakes Golf Course

The Desert Lakes Golf Course in Bullhead City is a 6,569-yard, par 72 course that is beautiful to walk and play, but quite demanding. While golfers do not have to pull out the big driver as often as they do on some courses, the fairways are quite narrow and there is plenty of water on the course to punish errant golfers.

Stonecreek Golf Course

Stonecreek Golf Course in Phoenix is a 6,871-yard course that is almost always in sensational condition. The par 71 layout demands excellent fairway play. The greens are tight and curvy, and golfers can get frustrated with the lack of birdie opportunities.

Arrowhead Country Club

Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale has excellent amenities, and is one of the toughest courses in the western United States. The 7,001-yard, par 72 is tough and long. You must hit a solid ball off the tee in order to get the ball to the fairway in a workable position. There are multiple hazards throughout the course, so accuracy is a must.

Silverleaf Golf Club

Silverleaf Golf Club in Scottsdale is a test for accomplished golfers, and may want to be avoided by golfers with handicaps of 18 or more. The course is a monster at 7,267 yards, and is also a par 72. The golfer must hit long and accurate drives, and the fairways are narrow and somewhat unforgiving.
