Finding attractions on Market Street comes easily, since the major street runs through the entire city, and many interesting sights are right off Market Street and easy to find.

The Castro Theatre

Nestled within the historical Castro District of the city, the Castro Theatre is an architectural masterpiece showcasing the rich history of San Francisco's varying culture. The theatre always presents special festivals and performances. For example, during the holiday season of 2009 it offers "Hitch for the Holidays," a movie festival featuring the best of Alfred Hitchcock. Every month something new is going on at the Castro Theatre.

Cartoon Art Museum

The Cartoon Art Museum, located off Market Street in a convenient location facing Mission Street, showcases exhibitions all year long. Exhibitions feature local, national and international cartoonists including Andy Ristaino, who makes frequent appearances to talk about his creation, Nightblade, a graphic novel. Fans of comic book and low-brow art find this Market Street attraction an amazing addition to their vacations.

Golden Gate Park Golf Course

Golf is always a relaxing activity while on a vacation, and the Golden Gate Park Golf Course is one attraction worth seeing. Nestled within the Golden Gate Park, the course spans a full 18 holes, with plenty of room for a driving range, outdoor dining and other amenities including a lush and awe-inspiring landscape with plenty of spots to have secluded tea parties and picnics. Built in the early 1950s, the Golden Gate Park Golf Course is not only a place for recreation, but it is one of San Francisco's historic sights of interest.
