Things to Do in Las Vegas

Things to Do in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is a prime destination for entertainment, and finding something to do shouldn't be hard, no matter your budget or your interests. Once you're done with golf or if you need to step away for just a while, Las Vegas offers tons of opportunities for fun, thrills and one-of-a-kind sights.

Liberace Museum

Even if you're not a fan of classical music, you're likely to find this museum fascinating. The large complex includes two buildings and a collection of artifacts and memorabilia that is sure to impress. The piano and car galleries showcase Liberace's own possessions, including 18 rare and antique pianos, a pink Beetle and a 2.5-carat rhinestone Roadster. There's also a reproduction of Liberace's bedroom, complete with a rare Louis XV desk.

In the next building, visitors can see Liberace's collection of jewelry, which includes everything from diamonds to Swarovski crystals. But the most impressive collection is the pianist's outfits, with capes that average 40 lbs. and popular hot-pants outfits. Liberace's most memorable clothing items are also here: the 200-plus pound King Neptune costume and the pink-feather outfit worn during an Easter performance in 1985.

The Tuscany Kitchen

If you ever wanted to prepare a meal to rival those of the great chefs, this might be your best chance. Geared to both men and women, this exhibition kitchen allows visitors to see world-class chefs preparing meals live for a period of one to four hours. Guests can ask questions, take notes and be active participants. Once class is over, you get to taste the menu, which usually includes a main dish, a side and sometimes a dessert. There are also wine demonstrations and tastings.

Vegas Indoor Skydiving

For those who want to experience free falling but can't gather the courage to jump from a plane, this offers the next best thing. One of two such places in the country (the other is located in California), this 22-foot high padded tunnel is equipped with a DC-3 propeller at the base, which generates winds of up to 120 mph, enough to lift customers up in the air and allow them to float up and down, bounce off the walls and experience the feeling of free falling. Visitors must wear a flight suit, helmet and goggles and watch a safety and instructional video before getting into the tunnel.
