Golf
Any die-hard golfer is going to want to get in a round, even if the wind is up and it hasn't reached above 50 degrees Fahrenheit all day. So, make sure you pack your golf shoes and glove. You can rent clubs and buy balls at the course. Make sure you dress warmly with a sweater or jacket that you can put back on in between swings.
The golfing dress code will vary according to the restrictions of each course. Be sure to ask the course's dress requirements when you make reservations. However, most public golf courses in the Las Vegas area are no different than most areas of the U.S. They require "proper golf attire." This means no jeans or t-shirts, but you should wear a collared shirt (polo shirts are fine), nicer shorts or pants. Most courses insist you use "soft spikes," which means no metal spikes.
Daytime
Lightweight, long pants and shirts or blouses should be your staple outfits. However, during December, the wind can suddenly come up and a chill can almost instantly move into the air, especially once the sun sets. Whether you are on the golf course or on your way to the casino, make sure you have a sweater, sweatshirt or windbreaker with you. A baseball hat or other headwear can protect you from the sun, but keep your body heat in if the weather turns cool while you are outdoors. You can always take off your outer garments once you are in a warmer indoor environment.
Evening
You'll only need dressier clothing if you plan on spending an evening in a nicer restaurant or going to the clubs. If you have a night like this planned, make sure you bring along a nicer outerwear wrap. However, even in the clubs you can get away with a pair of jeans and a fancy top and heels, for women. Otherwise "resort wear" is fine for most eating establishments. Resort wear is anything nicer than jeans and a t-shirt. Cotton dresses or slacks for women and slacks and a polo shirt for men are very acceptable.
Extras
It will be too cool in the December desert to plan on lounging in the sun of Las Vegas. Still, you can bring a swimsuit for an evening or two in the hot tub. Comfortable walking shoes are always a must when packing for a Las Vegas trip. Most likely, you will be doing some walking about. It will be too cool for your summer sandals this time of year.
