Located 94 miles south of Las Vegas on the Arizona border, Laughlin, Nevada, has grown into an alternative gambling destination. With more than 10 casinos, a lake, prime riverfront real estate and golfing available, the area is a popular tourist spot. Casinos in Laughlin features slots and table games, and many have sports books, keno lounges and poker rooms. Several well-known Vegas casinos have outposts here. There is one golf course, the public Mojave Resort Golf Club that has a Laughlin address, and four other championship courses within about a 30-minute drive.
Aquarius Casino Resort
A full-service venue, the Aquarius Casino Resort underwent a $20 million room renovation in 2008. The casino, voted by readers of the Mohave Valley Daily News as No. 1 for Best Slots and Best Rooms, has 1,300 slots and video poker machines, 60 table games, a race and sports book, a keno lounge and a live poker room.
Table games include blackjack, craps, pai gow poker and roulette. The casino often hosts tournaments, both for slot and table-game players. The resort also has an outdoor amphitheater that hosts live concerts, plus there's a pool, fitness center and business center. The resort is located within 30 minutes of five golf courses and is only five minutes from the Laughlin Ranch Golf Course.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino
Built in 1966, Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino was Laughlin's first casino resort. The property, which is independently owned, is on the banks of the Colorado River and many guest rooms have views. The casino has slots and video poker, table games, a sports book, a bingo lounge, live keno and a poker room.
The casino features a large nonsmoking slots area with 270 machines, as well as a second casino attached to the resort by a skyway. The resort has a bowling alley and a classic car museum, as well as a pool, salon and massage services. It is within a half-hour drive of five golf courses.

Golden Nugget Laughlin
Well known as one of the older Las Vegas casinos, the Golden Nugget's Laughlin location is modern and has a tropical-themed casino with slots and video poker, table games and a sports book. The resort is located on the Colorado River and has a pool, nightclub and sports bar on site. The hotel offers golf packages that include one or two night's lodging plus two rounds of golf at the El Rio, Laughlin Ranch, Mojave Resort or Desert Lakes golf courses.

River Palms Casino
Located right on the Colorado River with a water taxi and watercraft rentals available, the River Palms Casino opened a renovated Elite Island slot area and a comedy club called the 2700 Club in 2009. The casino has nearly 800 slot and video poker machines, table games, a sports book and a bingo lounge. The resort also has a spa and salon on site. The resort concierge can recommend local golf courses and arrange tee times.
